33 Scriptures That Reflect God’s Love

There are days when we need to read, reflect, and apply God’s word to our lives. There are days when we need to be reminded of what He has done for us. That He is for us and not against us. That He truly loves us unconditionally. I chose 33 scriptures that reflect God’s love because Jesus began His ministry at 30 and was crucified at 33. He is the embodiment of what love is. The sacrificial Lamb who laid down His life and put to death the power of sin, shame, and guilt. Here are 33 reminders of God’s love.

Reading Bible scriptures while drinking coffee

1) John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

2) 1 John 3:16

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

3) Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according his purpose.

4) Psalm 34:4-6

I sought the Lord, and He answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

5) Matthew 6:33 & 34

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

6) Jeremiah 29:11-14

”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, ”plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, ”and bring you back from captivity.”

7) Deuteronomy 31:8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

8) Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

9) Ephesians 2:4-5

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.

10) Proverbs 16:9

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.

11) Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

12) Psalm 121:1-2

I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

13) Psalm 34:18

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

14) Ephesians 2:8-10

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

15) Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?

16) Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

17) Deuteronomy 1:29-31

Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.

18) Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

19) 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

God's Love quote with a heart and cross

20) Titus 3:4-7

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

21) Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ”He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.

22) Psalm 107

He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

23) Proverbs 2:6-8

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints.

24) Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petiton, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

25) John 14:1-4

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.

26) John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

27) John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

28) John 8:12

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ”I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

29) Luke 4:18-19

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

30) Romans 10:9

If you declare with your mouth, ”Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

31) 1 Peter 2:9-10

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

32) Psalm 107:1

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

33) Romans 8:31-39

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ”For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Friendly Reminder!

God loves you more than you know and He is wanting a relationship with you. You are loved. You are chosen and you belong to the Most High God. Whenever you need to, speak these truths over your life. Speak and teach them to your kids, family and those in your life. God loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.

The Question…”Am I Not Sending You” is conviction The Question…”Am I Not Sending You” is conviction and comfort rolled in one.

It’s a conviction, because God has proved time and time that He loves His people and can be trusted. It’s a comfort because knowing that we have Him to lean on for all that we need to pursue and succeed in our callings.

When you need encouragement, remind yourself of what God asked…”am I not sending you”?

Fear does more harm than good. Actually it does no Fear does more harm than good. Actually it does no good. I’m not talking about being fearful of a snake, spider etc. I’m talking about the mental fear.

You being afraid to try new things, due to the possibility of failing.
You being afraid of taking risks, due to the probability of making mistakes.
You being afraid of being set apart, due to the likelihood of losing some friends and family.
You being afraid of applying to a new job or asking for a promotion because of the fear of not feeling good enough.
You being afraid of asking someone out due to the possibility of being rejected.

All of those things and more alike are mental fears.

You never know unless you take a step.
You never know unless you try.
You never know unless you ask.

Confession: I, too would like it if God told me all of the steps and answers before moving my feet, before putting myself out there. But that’s not how it works.

It is when you take a step in faith, He will lead and guide you. And even if you do turn on the wrong path, He will come get you and put you on the right path.

Say NO to worry and fear.

Although there are times when we do wait on God, b Although there are times when we do wait on God, but there are a lot of times when God is waiting on us. He gives us sign after sign, gives us all we need and yet we don’t move our feet. Most times, out of fear of the unknown, fear of making the wrong decision, fear of not knowing everything etc. But…

No more!

I’ve been working towards a few things that God has placed on me and even though I’m not fully there yet, its a start.
