Hello everyone, welcome back to my page for another blog reading with me! If any of you are new, I am Monique Threadgill, a small town girl from Oklahoma and I am currently living out God’s purpose and calling on my life. My purpose is, well like others, to serve people. Serving people is everyone’s sole purpose, but calling, we each have different gifts, talents etc. My calling was to become a Christian blogger. That is my assignment now, but who knows what else God has up His sleeve for me to do next.
I will give you a brief story how I discovered my calling.
My Personal Story
Back in January of 2019, I wrote in my journal and prayed to God about certain things concerning my life. Couple of the sentences I wrote on Jan. 1, 2019 stated: “Keep God first and He will open doors that no man can shut”. The last sentenced was “But most of all, I want to continue to grow in Christ.
Snippet of my prayer on Jan. 30, 2020 – >> “I also want to thank you for opportunities, dreams, goals and blessings. If there is a way I can have a positive impact on someone or people in general, give me that light and show the way. I would love to do more and help make a change in the world. In Jesus name, Amen.
Doesn’t it seem kinda crazy that I was already thanking Him for things that I had not even received yet. The thing is, when you truly know God and know how much He cares for you, then you would know that your future is already taken care of.
Ask and you shall receive. When you ask, ask with a faithful heart.
None of my life plans, childhood dreams etc. was to become a Christian Blogger. BUT when I chose to Seek God First, when I prayed that prayer up above with a thankful heart, when I told Him many times to let His Will Be Done, and when I told Him that I wanted what He wants for my life, and I asked Him “what was my purpose for living”.
I chose to Seek God First Above All Else, now I am here.

God’s Masterpiece
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10
According to Lexico, the definition of masterpiece is a work of outstanding artistry, skill or workmanship. Isn’t that awesome to know that you are an outstanding piece of work that was created in the hands of our Master.
The problem is that many people don’t believe they are a masterpiece. So they act accordingly.
But if God tells us that He created us anew in Christ so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago, then take His word for it. He has things for us to do and fulfill.
You Are Called.
If any of you believe that you don’t have a purpose, I’m here to tell you that You Do Have A Purpose. If any of you believe that you don’t have a calling, let me tell ya that You Do Have A Calling On Your Life. In order to find it, God has got to come first in your life and you cannot do what you are called to do until you become who you were called to be.
There are some of you that are kind of struggling with their calling. Maybe God has placed something on your heart to do and you refuse to do it out of fear of failure, the unknown and/or other people’s opinions. I was the same way at first and never would start my blog, but I took a leap of faith trusting God and Pressed On. Now I am a co-creator alongside God for Girl On A Mission Blog.
Maybe there are some of you that don’t feel “good enough”, “worthy”, or “qualified”. But let’s back up to the Scripture stating “You Are God’s Masterpiece”. Let me also tell you all, God Does Not Call The Qualified, He Qualifies The Called.
If any of you have any plans or ideas you want to fulfill, take it to God. The worst thing He can say is no; then give you something better. You could do what I did back in 2019 when I prayed to God consistently. I didn’t tell Him specifically what I wanted or what my plans were or what I want my future to look like. I told Him to Let His Will Be Done.
God has something for us all. A purpose to serve one another. Our calling is how we go by serving. I fulfill my purpose through my blog and life by bringing glory and honor to God’s name using my spiritual gift of encouragement and spreading the Good News.
If you are concerned about your calling, talk to God. I might have to add, be prepared for what you ask for and do not rush Him. It took me over a year from the time I started seeking, to Him preparing me and me stepping out in faith publishing my very first post. Now I Am Here.
Thank you all for reading! Until next time, love and blessings.
