This past month of February, I spoke at a women’s conference. As I was preparing for this conference, God told me to remind the ladies of their identity in Christ and of who He is to them. Knowing who you are and Whose you are is vital in your Christian walk. Why? Because the Enemy, Satan, works overtime in trying to steal your identity that is secure in Jesus Christ. But remember, the Enemy can’t steal what He didn’t give.
When you know who you are and whose you are, you can walk with your head held high despite your struggles, circumstances, and problems, knowing that you are a daughter of the Most High God and a son of the King of kings, and that God cares deeply for you. He is your Father who loves you more than you know. Below I will be sharing some of what I spoke about with the ladies at the women’s conference.

38For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Romans 8:38-39
It is good to know how much God loves us. But it’s even better when we believe in our minds and in our hearts, because then we can truly walk in His love.
If you want to pause and read more Scriptures about the love of God then read my blog, 33 Scriptures That Reflects God’s Love here.
When you are rooted in God’s love, nothing can break you. No matter what or who stands against you, when God is for you, nothing can shake you. No matter the storm, no matter how high the floods rise (your problems, bills, health diagnosis, etc.), when you are standing on a firm foundation, nothing can tear your house down.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS…WE FORGET TWO THINGS.
Who we are and Whose we are.
To share a short story of how God reminded me of who I was and whose I was, back in January of 2024, I went through a bit of spiritual warfare. This particular warfare made me want to give up. I grew so tired, spiritually drained to the point of giving up on the mission of Christ, and it had me thinking back on the time when I didn’t live for God wholeheartedly. I thought about how life was easy to just wake up and do whatever I wanted. When you live for God, although He gives peace and joy, this life is far from easy.
At the end of that month, God told me to take a 3-day fast. I chose which fast I wanted to do, a partial fast. The first morning after I started the fast, I was in the bathroom getting dressed for work when I heard the words, “David knew.” I knew it was God getting my attention, so I asked Him what did David know.
Then I heard the following: “David knew his identity and authority. The reason the Israelites were afraid to go up against Goliath was that they forgot who they were and Whose they were.
All throughout that same day, I received similar messages about David knowing his identity and authority. God wanted me to know and remember my identity in Christ and the authority His given me. He wanted me to know whatever was against me was not too big or too difficult to overcome.
He wanted me to know that He was with me. And He is with you, too.
”Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than that is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4
On the last day of the 3-day fast, I was sitting on the floor of my living room, with my Bible wide open, ready to hear from God. The Holy Spirit then guided me to a certain scripture.
”… He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.” – Matthew 8:16

I want to take you back to the Word to remind you of who you are and Whose you are, so that you can apply the truth that nothing can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
When Satan comes to tempt you, make you doubt God and yourself, and make you all confused, you can block him with the word of God.
So the question is… Who Does The Word Say You Are?
You Are Chosen
”For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” – Ephesians 1:4
You Are Called
”As a prisoner for the Lord, then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” – Ephesians 4
You Are Redeemed
”But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel; ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; you are mine.” – Isaiah 43:1
You Are Greatly Loved
”But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
You Are Free
”So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” – John 8:36
You Are Blessed
” You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” – Deuteronomy 28:6
You Are His Masterpiece
” For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
You Are a Child of God
”For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:26
You Are Brand New
”Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5: 17

You Are Anointed
”The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” – Isaiah 61:1
You Are Ordained
”Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5
You Are Healed
” But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5
You are Highly Favored
”The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” – Luke 1:28
You are Courageous
”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
You Are a Royal Priesthood
”But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9
You are More Than a Conqueror
”No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” – Romans 8:37
Now that we have established who you are, the next question is, Who is God?

To share another short story, the night before a recent ice storm hit, God told me to get up, anoint my doorposts, and pray Psalm 91 over my house, family, and community.
That same night before bedtime, God led me to read Psalm 23, Psalm 27, and Psalm 91 in the New Living Translation. As I was reading through those chapters, I began to feel God’s presence manifest throughout my bedroom. He was there watching over me, comforting me, and sitting with me. That experience was so overwhelming that I wept and couldn’t stop. Not because I was sad, but because His presence was so powerful, loving, and warm. I began to thank Him for being my Father, Protector, Friend, and Provider. It was an experience that I will forever cherish.
In chapter 23, He reminded me of who He is and told me to read this passage to the women at the conference to remind them also.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd, I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me besides peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
God is:
Your Shepherd
He leads you, feeds you, and guides you in the way you should go. He protects you even when you don’t know that you need protecting. Even when you stray away, He will look for you and bring you back home.
Your Provider
He provides rest for the soul, comfort for the distressed and strength for the weak. He has provided a Helper to come alongside you and help you to live as God called you to live and do what God has called you to do. God is your Protector and Comforter. God is a gracious Father abounding in love. And God is good. In the words of Lysa TerKeurst, God is good. God is good to me. God is good at being God.
Your King
And God is Faithful and True.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns, and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:11-16
When you apply these truths about who you are and who He is, nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in our Lord, Savior, and King….Jesus.
