BIBLE (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth)
Many of us have said “I wish life came with a manual” at least once or twice. Truth is, The Word of God is like a manual but better. It gives wisdom and knowledge that you will need. It gives encouragement, inspiration, and motivation. It gives you examples of the power, love, goodness and faithfulness of God. It literally tells you how to live your life day to day in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. And most importantly, you get to read about the One that came to give you life and give it more abundantly. His Name Is Jesus Christ.
Humankind tends to make life more harder than what it should be. We try to live life on our own terms; do things our own way. When life’s problems bring us down, we don’t know the way back up. When life tend to depress us, we don’t know how to let go and press on. But I’ll tell you the truth; the type of truth that will set you free. The Bible holds the key to all of your answers.
For today’s post, I am listing seven of my favorite Scriptures.
- Matthew 6:31-34 So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘what will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?‘ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
When I went through a depressed stage, I leaned heavily on this scripture.
2. Philippians 4: 6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
When I start to feel anxious, I read this scripture.
3. Joshua 1:9 This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
I often read this scripture and repeat it to myself when I need courage in the calling God has placed me upon.
4. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice, but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
When I need a reminder from the Holy Spirit regarding what “love” is, this is my go-to scripture.
5. Jeremiah 29: 11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good, and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
When I seek God for His plans regarding my life, this scripture fills my spirit.
6. John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
When I need the peace of God, this scripture gives exactly that.
7. John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Ya’ll this scripture right here overwhelms me with great joy, peace, hope, love, comfort…everything extra amazing. Why? Because my Jesus is amazing and He laid down His life so that you and I could have life and life abundantly.
Thank you for reading! Comment and let me know your favorite Scripture!
