Three Weapons I Use In Spiritual Warfare.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12
For the Word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. – Hebrews 4:12 NLT

Simply put, spiritual warfare is a battle for your mind. If Satan can control your mind, then he can control your life.

First thing first, a person needs to acknowledge the spiritual realm and know for a fact that spiritual warfare is very real. Not knowing, ignoring or doubting Satan’s existence and schemes only sets up the person to fall victim and think, do and behave the way of the world. And who is the god of this world? Satan

But with the power of Jesus and the Living Word, the battle is already won. In order to resist the devil, you must first submit to God.

Everyday we wake up, we are in a war. Not just any war but a war of good vs. evil. So everyday we need to do what Romans 12:2 says.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

Romans 12:2

The Daughter of the Most High.

The weapons I use and what you can and will need to use are not physical. We don’t need guns to fight what’s going on in our minds. We need spiritual weapons. The Bible, Prayer and Praise are three of them.

Word of God

When Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights fasting, Satan tried to tempt Him in different ways. But each time, Jesus came back at him with….The Word Of God. After the third time of tempting Jesus, the devil fled from Him. (That was after Jesus told Satan, “away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only‘).

The Bible aka the Word of God is the most powerful weapon you can ever use. Are you feeling doubt, anxious, worried or fearful? Open your Bible. It will give you peace and the devil will flee from you. Do you want wisdom, knowledge, advice? Open your Bible. Do you want to learn how to love? Do you want to learn about your Creator and His great power? Do you want to read all about Jesus, the One that came so that you could be free? The Bible is the living word.

When Satan tries to hold me back with strongholds, I have my go to scriptures that I tell him. “I will not fear”, “I will not worry”, and “Jesus loves me” are some of the things I speak during the time Satan tries to put fear in my life of any kind. I can’t tell you how many times that I have repeated that last one, and felt Satan flee from me. When the Bible say “perfect love casts out all fear” (1 John 4:18), I know its true because I’ve experienced it.

There may come a time when we won’t have anything to stand on but the Word of God. But if you don’t know His Word, how will you be able to stand? Please note: Do not always depend on other people to tell you what the Bible says. Even though it is good to listen sometimes, there are many false prophets that twists God’s Word for their own benefit. Plus, its nothing like having your own personal relationship with God.

Prayer

I could write a whole book on the topic prayer just based on my prayers.

I go to God about any and every thing. For peace, comfort, love, understanding, discernment, discipline, wisdom, & protection. I pray to God about my finances, relationships, desires, fears and concerns. I go to Him about my future, my calling and my purpose. We even talk business.

But…sometimes the devil can seep in when I don’t be spending enough time with God. I mean that deep intimate connection. That’s why when I need to feel closer to God, I go the fasting route. I fast those things that are distractions. Example, food, social media and TV. The devil is the master of distractions. Especially when he is distracting you from doing good.

There is much power in fasting and praying. Give Him your time.

Praise

One night, right before bedtime, I started having bad thoughts in my mind and just had this weird feeling surrounding me. It wasn’t uncommon because Satan tries to attack me in that way a lot so I won’t get good sleep. His whole plan is to stop me or delay me from doing the will of God the next day due to being mentally tired from not getting proper sleep the night before. I say mentally because, its not that my body be tired, but my brain doesn’t focus like it would if I get proper rest.

Well this particular night, I was fed up with it. During prayer, I started giving God all the glory and thanking Him for loving me and being with me daily. I started thanking Him for all He has done *I had a whole list of things lol*. I kept on and kept on giving Him praise and thanked Him for sending Jesus to set me free. And just like that, that evil feeling was gone.

That’s how powerful praise is.

Always give thanks to God in everything. Praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the noontime and praise Him when the sun goes down. The more you show gratitude to the Lord, the more you’ll see your blessings and the more you’ll receive His peace.

“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.; his love endures forever.” – Psalm 106:1

Jesus is the Way to the Father. Jesus is the Truth that will set you free. Jesus is the One that gives you everlasting Life.

Romans 10:9 states: For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

It’s a daily struggle me, but I will not give up. I can’t give up there are things In my life I just need to get rid of and move on. Most of the time it’s my job, sometimes it’s just being here, like all my life is working, paying bills it’s just exhausting. I do get upset because I’m not in the right place. Mood is all over the place. But I will never give up…

Sis, Jesus will give you rest. Your identity and purpose is rooted in Christ. One thing you SHOULD give up, that is your pride to always be in control of things. When you let go of your pride, you gain humility. Everyday morning when you wake up, I want you to either write down or say what you are grateful for and thank God for what and who He has blessed you with. You will definitely start seeing your blessings. You say that you are not in the right place. Well I say, get rid of your Will and get rooted in God’s Will for your life. God loves you more than you know and want to be in your every day life especially in your marriage and household.

The Question…”Am I Not Sending You” is convi The Question…”Am I Not Sending You” is conviction and comfort rolled in one.

It’s a conviction, because God has proved time and time that He loves His people and can be trusted. It’s a comfort because knowing that we have Him to lean on for all that we need to pursue and succeed in our callings.

When you need encouragement, remind yourself of what God asked…”am I not sending you”?

Fear does more harm than good. Actually it does no Fear does more harm than good. Actually it does no good. I’m not talking about being fearful of a snake, spider etc. I’m talking about the mental fear.

You being afraid to try new things, due to the possibility of failing.
You being afraid of taking risks, due to the probability of making mistakes.
You being afraid of being set apart, due to the likelihood of losing some friends and family.
You being afraid of applying to a new job or asking for a promotion because of the fear of not feeling good enough.
You being afraid of asking someone out due to the possibility of being rejected.

All of those things and more alike are mental fears.

You never know unless you take a step.
You never know unless you try.
You never know unless you ask.

Confession: I, too would like it if God told me all of the steps and answers before moving my feet, before putting myself out there. But that’s not how it works.

It is when you take a step in faith, He will lead and guide you. And even if you do turn on the wrong path, He will come get you and put you on the right path.

Say NO to worry and fear.

Although there are times when we do wait on God, b Although there are times when we do wait on God, but there are a lot of times when God is waiting on us. He gives us sign after sign, gives us all we need and yet we don’t move our feet. Most times, out of fear of the unknown, fear of making the wrong decision, fear of not knowing everything etc. But…

No more!

I’ve been working towards a few things that God has placed on me and even though I’m not fully there yet, its a start.
