Hi everyone! As promised, today’s post will be part two of Trusting God Through Stressful Times. I will be discussing more on “how” to trust God and why you should when you’re going through things that is beyond your control.
Truth is, our Creator is all-knowing. He knows our beginning and end. He knows our problems and the solutions. What’s to come in the future? Oh He knows that too.
So if God already knows everything, why is it so hard to trust Him? It is not that He is the problem. He will help you if You would be willing to Let Go.
Yes I get it. You like to be in control of everything concerning you right? Your marriage, finances, career path, kids, just life in general. It’s okay to have things in order, actually it’s a great thing. But we all know, life isn’t daises and lilies. If and when problems arise, God is there to do what you cannot do. If life was perfect then we wouldn’t need God. But that’s not reality.
How To Trust God In Trying Times.
Decide to Trust God
You have to first choose wholeheartedly to give your trust to Him. Even when its hard. Even when you can’t see Him physically. If not seeing Him is blocking your trust, let me help you right quick.
Look at a baby or toddler running around, those tiny beings are the creation of God. Look at the veins in your hands running through your body, something amazing no man on earth can create. Put your hands to your chest and feel you heartbeat. Spectacular right! Breathe in and out. That’s The Breath Of God. Hungry for more? Go outside and feel the breeze. Look at all the beautiful trees. Look into the sky. See the sun during the day? See the moon and stars at night? That’s all God. He Is All Around.
Now since He created all these beautiful and beyond amazing things, what could He not make possible for you?
Get to Know Him and His Love For You
You cannot get to truly know God without having faith and belief in His Son Jesus Christ. In the Book of John chapter 3 verse 16 it states: For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus sacrificed His life so that we can have relationship with God and eternal life. When He gave His only Son, that’s the greatest love of all!
You really can’t trust someone that you don’t have a relationship with. Read all about Jesus in the Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. When you get done reading about all the miraculous things He did for people and the love He shown even to His enemies, you would want Him in your life everyday. That’s what the Spirit of God is for. To lead us in this life. When you allow Jesus to lead while you follow, the weight of the world will be lifted off your shoulders and things will feel a whole lot better for you.
Things that use to stress you will be a breeze letting go once you get to know the one that’s in control.
Make Time for God
When you’re in any relationship, you have to spend much quality time with that person to deeply trust them. The more time you spend with them, the more you get to know their character traits. Just like with God, you will continue to get to know Him and all His goodness by spending time with Him on a daily basis.
How can you make time daily?
- As soon as you wake up, make it a habit to say a prayer thanking Him for allowing you to see a new day. Ask God for His daily bread, daily wisdom, daily guidance. Do you need help dealing with a co-worker, ask Him for help before you go to work. Whatever you want to talk to God about is between you and Him. Open up and let Him in. Meet with God before meeting with people. Communication is key in any relationship. Also, you can talk with Him about anything and anytime of the day or night.
- Another way to spend time with God is reading His Word…the Bible. Open it up and learn about our Creator. When I made it a priority to make time to read my Bible, just let me tell ya’ll, it has helped me tremendously! There have been many times, God has spoken to me through the Bible and I would cry because I just know that He is right there with me. It brings me comfort and peace. The best feeling!
***For those that don’t have a Bible, there are many free Bible apps you can download. The one I use is the YouVersion app. Not only can you read the Word, but also the app comes with many amazing daily devotionals. Also, Goodwill offers many Bibles for less than $3.00 if price is an issue.
NOTE: There are many other ways that you can spend time with God, but I just posted two of them: prayer and reading the Word of God.
Give To God What Is Too Much To Handle.
If your marriage is in shambles and your spouse doesn’t seem to put in much effort to save what’s left of it, give it to God. He knows you, your spouse and the direction of your marriage better than you.
If you have more bills than money then life brings along car problems, health problems, etc. because we all know that sometimes when it rains it pours, just give it over to God. He will make a way when you don’t see a way.
If your kids are acting out and your are tired of sitting in the room crying because you don’t know what else to do. Don’t love them less, just give it to God. Ask Him to help you as a parent as well as helping your child. Don’t grow weary and have a cold heart towards them. It may take time, but something beautiful will come from it.
If you’re struggling with your purpose, career path, and/or calling, go to God and ask for direction. You have any ideas about anything, go to Him for clarity and confirmation. He will either bless your ideas or have you wait and give you something better.

No matter the problem or situation, our God can fix it with no hesitation. But in order for Him to work in your life, you have to be willing to let it go, have faith and trust that God will see you through. He is God that does not lie. He not only keeps His promises but He certainly loves you.
I do want to add, for those that have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, it’s best to do so now. Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with our Father. If you want God to come into your life and help you along the way, Jesus is the Way.
As long as there is breath, there is time. But, don’t take time for granted. We Don’t Know What Tomorrow Brings.
” Draw Close To God And God Will Draw Close To You.”
” Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
James 4:8; Proverbs 3:5-6

You are certainly welcome! When you let go and give God what you can’t handle, you’ll experience the peace that only God gives. Life is not meant to live stressed. Love you always and I hope you know how much God loves you too.
