Hey Ya’ll Hey! This is my first post of 2022 and I knew that I must write about what the Lord has been talking to me about lately…being intentional.
I realized in 2021, I wasted so much time. When you think of it, it is kind of arrogant to think that we have so much time to waste so we tend to procrastinate on the very things we are supposed to be doing. I was convicted of it and that conviction alone made me ask God for forgiveness for the valuable time I wasted.
Like whom am I to think that I have tomorrow to do the very thing that God asked me to do today?
So, I have made a list of the things that I need to be more intentional with and how I can make progress.
- Time with God
- Family
- Food
- Exercise
- Friends
- My Mission
Time with God
This one is a big one because although I do spend time with God, lately I haven’t been spending quality time like I have before. Quality time to me is putting away distractions (phones, food etc.) first and foremost and getting in the presence of God. I also sit in my closet and have prayer time and Bible study time just me and the Holy Spirit. There are times when I sit in silence waiting on the Lord to speak to me. Also, while walking in nature….I feel God all around me. We often have meetings or just small chit chat on these walks.
Last but certainly not least, fasting is what I do when I need to feel closer to Him or when I need clarification regarding a certain thing. I have fasted not only from food but also social media and tv.
So, I conclude how I can be more intentional with my time with God is getting back to all those things I listed above. With discipline, devotion and consistency.
Family
Truth be told, I’m usually with family on the weekends. During the week, I don’t get to see them much. The reason this is on my “intentional list” is because sometimes when I am around them, I be on my phone scrolling the internet instead of being present and taking in the precious time we have together.
How I can be more intentional is basically be more present and have more conversations. Game night and movie night are other good options, but most importantly, just being present and engaged with those around you.
Food
Overall I am not an unhealthy eater but, sometimes I can do more eating out than eating in and, also not getting all of my nutrients from the foods I have been eating lately.
My suggestion on being more intentional is being more mindful of what I am putting into my body and making sure that I eat foods that is giving me the nutrients I need for a healthy body the natural way. The best way to do that is eat at home!
Exercise
Ya’ll I don’t know what happened! I use to work out consistently but when I stopped putting in the devoted effort, my body got way too comfortable with not moving a lot. That my friends is not a good thing!
I can be more intentional with exercising by just “doing it”. Literally workout more than twice a week. A workout that I enjoy is any workout with Jo on YouTube.
Friendship
I need to make more effort with what friends I do have and also be open to create opportunity for new friendships as well.
One thing that I have learned is God never planned on people being alone. He is all about community. Having the right community around you make life worth living. Pray for that community.
Mission
I’m going to let you all in on a little secret. The times when I sat in my closet spending time with Father God before working on a blog post or times sitting by the window in my living room feeling God’s presence, those exact times are the reason I have written powerful and touching blog posts. I am not taking any credit because there are days that I cry while writing because His spirit is speaking through me while I type whatever message that He know is needed for His people in that moment. It all started with being in His presence.
Whatever content I produce, I want it to start with God.
I must get back to those times.
Being intentional with my assignment as a Christian Blogger and being courageous in my mission to bring souls to Christ.
The beginning of the year is still here. Choose Jesus now and each day you wake to see. Pray and have faith that He will cover you and your family each day you live to see in 2022. Today is the day of salvation.
Love and Blessings, Monique ST
